This is a must when visiting Noosa. I wanted to finish the holidays with a bang and this ride delivered. The views, the adrenaline ride over the Noosa Bar into a one metre swell. My 18 year old daughter and I were sitting in the front, the best place to get an amazing experience. We changed seats a number of times so everyone has a chance to experience the front. The views looking back towards the main land was fantastic. The rock formations the large swell hitting the rocks was so good. There is a hint to save your back and bottom stand up and use your legs as shock absorbers. Amazingly the best was still to come! Whale, whale was the call and to our right was a small pod of whales. An infant breaching out of the water just near us and the size of the adults was so great to see. Then a large pod of dolphins swam right beside us with infants, sea eagles and the awes and aha continues smiles were on everyone’s faces. This ride is a must for locals and tourists. Yes the whales are sessional but the views and dolphins are part of our amazing area.
Such an amazing experience! Definitely recommend trying it. The views of the bay were beautiful and our guide was very friendly and accomodating. We were lucky enough to see some dolphins and humpback whales on our trip but it would have been an amazing experience either way.
Couldn't be more impressed - remarkable to see half a dozen whales in close proximity. Our guide Nathan was outstanding, safety conscious, thorough and very knowledgeable on the marine life. Our kids loved it - was the highlight of our holiday for them. Many thanks for a great experience. I'll keep an eye out for the long neck penguins! Cheers, Stephen, Tiffany, Cleo and Sasha
Struck it lucky and saw loads of whales in the second hour of our trip, including one whopper that breached completely out of the water two times in a row. Even though conditions were a little rough, with many whitecaps, we spotted several lots of spouts and Nathan took us over to these pods but not too close. Amazing to see mothers and newborns cruising along in groups of four or so. One cow and calf snuck up on us and passed right under the boat. Another pod swam close to shore near Hells Gate, where a juvenile played around raising its big head out of the water, thumping its tail, waving a flipper. We also saw several dolphins. Loved it all. The boat trip would be a lot of fun even without the wildlife.
Went out on a perfect morning for a 2hr whale watching cruise with Captain Nathan on Saturday. I have a broken knee was concerned about getting on and off the boat but it was doable. The craft itself goes very smoothly over the water and is pretty fast which makes for an exciting trip. Nathan was fun and did a light hearted narrative during the trip. We saw Hell’s Gates from another angle as we went along the coast line south looking for whales. It was great to se a pod of dolphins right up at the boat but no whales this day unfortunately. It wasn’t for the lack of trying Nathan travelled north and south on the search for us but no luck. I must admit 2 hrs was long enough even though the seats have great padding straddling the seat was like riding a horse and by the end I felt a bit saddle sore. It was a fabulous time next time I would do the thrill ride and then if you see a whale it’s a bonus.#noosaoceanrider
Our skipper Nathan took us out towards Hells Gate and we saw a pod of dolphins off Granite Bay first and then sighting after sighting of whales, mother with a baby and other adult whales just cruising slowly south. The skipper was very respectful keeping the boat at distance from the whales but one adult came right up next to the boat and then disappeared underneath. The conditions we good, a recommended light WSW wind and not too much swell. It was very exciting going out through the river mouth, trusting the skippers expertise, and I felt the Ocean rider was a safe vessel to get through the waves.. An absolutely wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone.
Very efficient and professional customer service overall. Skipper was very knowledgeable, regarded passenger safety as paramount and also offered a complimentary whale watching tour given we didn't see any whales with our specific group. Would definitely go again!
